Boyfriend by the Hour

I have to say that while I enjoyed the book, I actually could have done with a little more and in saying that I don’t just mean in length.

I liked the premise of the story, I liked the connection between the main characters but I think with a little more time they could have really been amazing.

Sadie has an awful history with men, especially her last boyfriend, her confidence is at rock bottom but she knows has to get a handle on the here and now and get over what happened.

So when she meets her new neighbour her interest is most definitely piqued.

Cole is cute, no, I do him a disservice, he is hot and I get that Sadie was drawn to him but the whole thinking he was an escort…duh, falling for that …really!

And as for him perpetuating the ruse, WTF!

I felt as if they could have found their way to each other normally (after all they lived next door) without her feeling that she had to hire him, I know that after the demise of her last relationship she was searching for control but there are hundreds if not thousands of women who get their hearts broken but don’t react the way Sadie did.

I was disappointed that she saw that as her only option so to speak and I couldn’t help but get the feeling that she was setting herself up for more heartbreak. I mean what the heck is going to happen when she discovers that he isn’t what she thinks he is; will her heart survive his subterfuge?

Don’t get me wrong this is a nice read. But I think just like the book, they sold themselves too short.
