The F-Word

Quite simply loved it! A fabulous romantic comedy!!!
This is the first book I have read from this author but I am the one that has missed out because this was fabulous. I loved her writing style, the humour that flowed seamlessly and the subtlety with which she allowed both the characters and their situation to develop.
I loved the fact that the story was told from Matt’s point of view because he was quite simply a wonderful narrator.
I found it impossible not to smile as the story progressed. I mean, I knew where the story was heading but the fact that he hadn’t a clue what the heck was going on most of the time, meant that he was impossible not to love.
Bailey, I though was a little too self-deprecating at times but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t like her, I did. I just wanted her to be a little more upstanding somewhat, she had a wish, a hope of how things would turn out but she kept that to herself and when things begin to come together later in the book, I thought a couple of her declarations didn’t exactly show her in the most positive light, she was a little more manipulative that I would have wanted.
The relationship between Bailey and Matt is far from ordinary and it turned a tad more serious, a heck of a lot quicker than I thought but it all came out in the wash so who am I to complain.
I think the author was clever with her plot and prose and giving Matt the floor so to speak was a stroke of genius…I could have listened to him all night!
