The Rule Maker

In a moment of stupidity I started this without having read the first book of the series and I think I missed some of that previous detail but I won’t hold that against this book because it was my mistake not the authors. So taking this as nothing other than a body of work on its own I would have to say that it was a solid read.
I thought the characters that took up the majority of the story were well rounded and believable and that the storyline was one that I could completely relate to.
The connection between Zoey and Ryder felt as it was almost tangible and almost inexplicable. But moving forward wasn’t going to be easy, they had a past that was going to require time and more than a little effort to resolve…could they?
I thought the conversations between were engaging and playful in many respects and I really enjoyed the opportunity the author gave me to watch them grow not only as a couple but as individuals.
Ryder especially piqued my interest as he found out not only who Zoey was but also who he was and what he wanted in life, his life was so much better with Zoey in it, he just had to find a way to keep her there.
A smart, sharp story that has had me searching out the first book for my next read!
